"Jul" follows the bands debut release "...den Ahnen zum Grusse..." in 2003. The MCD is a combination of many styles of metal - Black, Heavy and Pagan Metal and includes strong folk influences. Acoustic guitars, flutes and Germanic warrior choires are contrasted against the hardness of metal guitars, Black Metal Crowls and a strong Bassline.
Songs alternate between fast and mid-tempo songs and traditional folk music in the way of the old bards.
The lyrics on "Jul" tell the stories and myths of the festival of Yule, with some tracks sung in old Germanic. The folksong "Liodhahattr" retells a story from the "Elder Edda".
