"Blood on Ice" was originally recorded in 1989 intended as Bathory´s fifth album (before "Hammerheart"), but was left incomplete, because Quorthon worried about the drastic departure from the band´s earlier Black Metal sound. So the recording remained in the vault until it was completed in 1995.
